PhD Work (Current)
I am using a remote sensing model, the Optical Trapezoid Model (OPTRAM), to monitor tropical peatland water table depth. Furthermore, I am evaluating the capability of OPTRAM for forecasting tropical peatland burned area. My work also involves conducting fieldwork in Malaysian peatlands with support from the Fulbright U.S. Student Program.
Master's Work
For this project, I used carbon flux data from the AmeriFlux network to compare year by year carbon uptake variability and determine relevant drivers between nearby forests and wetlands. A total of eight sites were used with up to two decades of observations per site.
